As part of my practice tonight (on upright) I put Pandora on The Heavy (UK) radio station and jammed along. I like playing along with great musicians of any style, and love the random "never heard before" factor.

So, White Stripes' "Effect and Cause" came on, and I had a blast jamming with it. Just a dirty dirty blues jam.

Course I have long known Jack is a great musician, but I have always held umbrage with the "no bassist" bands. The WS, The Black Keys. Heck, even the Doors.

But I never thought about what a gift the White Stripe albums are! All that sonic texture, with no bass! We can jam and practice for hours in these recordings!

I just wanted to share my epiphany. And I want to thank all the bassless bands for giving us great practice fodder.
