ABG owners: unbalanced string tension?

    Hi All,

i play a Martin BC-15E ABG, string tenor (ADGC).

Has anyone experimented with unbalanced string tensions? I'm asking because I just tried a Thomastik C string (acousticore), which is considerably lighter in gauge than a regular steel C string, but it sounds great with my D'Addario phosphor-bronze ADG strings.

If I leave on the lower tension C string, am I liable to twist my neck?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but since it's a question about what a neck will take, I figure this is the place.

    Thank you!

    It'll probably be fine.
If you're worried about it, detune your A string when you aren't using the bass, to even out the tension.
