I have a bass ibanez sgr200 with active electronics... it has a great playability but it has too much treble tone ... like a guitar. I like in a bass a balanced tone that leave me space to setup with the eq and have a versatile instrument.
My solution was a tone cap in parallel to my volumen pot. I have to say it, I tried a lot of caps but the final result was an amazing sound improvement.
