Very nice craftsmanship. I am impressed with your custom bridge. Are the saddles wood? Can you make custom bridges for 4 strings??

    Stunning bass.

It reminds me of Warr instruments although they are another animal altogether.

I wonder how it would sound bowed?

    Hi
I am a big fan of Nikola's work. I did not know he taught building as well.
    Say hello from me.

That is one gorgeous bass- the woodwork on everything from the knobs to the bridge shows a great sense of aesthetics. That completely flat fingerboard looks scary to play though :D

Thanx all! for the really really nice comments!
The body is called the "Super Nova" which is also available in 4,5, 6 or 7 strings.

What does something like that cost?

And do luthiers frequently take on apprentices? I would love to be an apprentice for a year, just to build myself a couple cool basses.

I saw this bass in the workshop just before it was finished and Wow is a major understatement! What a work of art! Was picking up my new Jupiter model which looked like a midget hanging up on the wall next to the 9-string! :D

Will be dropping by to see Nikola and get some photos done of my new Bass this afternoon so, can post them later in the week.

Let me just point out that this is my 3rd Adamovic Bass now and I love them all sooooooo much. The build quality and playability are amazing, plus Nikola is a top guy to deal with too. He even personally delivered my new Bass to me at my house, which is something you wouldn't normally see from Fodera or Sadowsky!;)

You can spot my first two on the Adamovic site as they are the only ones with a Single EMG pick-up and Aguilar pre-amps (1 Jupiter model and 1 'Jazz'-ish shaped one).

I keep looking at this bass and I have visited the website as well.

I really like the Super Nova design.

    Thanks for the post.

I just picked up this bass in a trade tonight, and I must say, I am super impressed! My first chance to play this bass came a few weeks back when I traded some other gear with its owner, and I was immediately smitten. One thing led to another, and I was eventually enticed into trading my cherished early model Tobias Contender 4 and a cab for this bass and another bass. I could not be happier with the Adamovic. It is all passive and has tone for days! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

I'll take some better pics later, but this is from a post by the original owner:

And of course, that 9-string is stellar! Very nice work!

    Tom,

This evening I was talking to my wife about how impressed I am with Nikola Adamovic and his wonderful works of art. It couldn't have been much more than a few hours ago when I mentioned to her how surprised I was that Tom Bowlus of Bass Gear Magazine fame had never mentioned owning one...I kid you not! (...and yes, my wife knows about you and your magazine from her bass-crazy husband. :D ) While searching TalkBass for all things Adamovic related, I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across this thread tonight!

    Congratulations!
