I do not see him is underrated, you can find him playing with major players, hardly a sign of being under the radar or not considered.
Great writer too, making him an over all excellent musician.

The first track of his I heard was Slam the Clown and it's still one of my favourites.

  4. DEEP knowledge of music! While he's certainly well known in musicians' circles, the general public has no idea of how monstrous he really is. It's always been about the music for him, I think, and not so much about the publicity machine needed to be layfamous.

Really grounded, at least that's my impression when I met him.

Un grand cadeau pour le monde!

PS: OP, thanks for the link. I've got Uzeb out the ears and nearly all his solo stuff. I can't play any of it, but I'm always inspired.

I was never much of a fan (I'm not too into his brand of fusion) but I went to see one of his concerts a couple of years ago on a whim and was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it.

Huge plus 1 to all of this. I've seen him a few times now. If you ever have the opportunity I highly recommend you go to one of his clinics. His approach to learning is so eye opening. He conveys his ideas in such an easy to understand way and really makes you want to go home and woodshed. I've also seen him in concert a few times and I'm always floored by his musicality. He has chops of course but it's always musical. Incredible musician!!!
