Hey! I work in Alaska a few weeks a year (live in IN) do I qualify???
LOL!! Do you at least play in Alaska?
I live in Anchorage been in AK about 6 years.
So how many bass players do we have in our great state?
Anybody here play upright bass as well?
I'm from Fairbanks, really, really cold here right now!
I'm a beginner even though I bought my bass almost 3 years ago. Wish I started playing when I bought it, oh well :X
Oh look, a year necro-bump. Whoops!
Seeing as this is the only Alaska club I can find, I'm going to bump this. I believe that's justified!
It seems like this fizzled out the first time, but I wonder if some other AK bassists have joined since '09 (like myself). I'm not a number guy but I'll play.
There's a chance I may be eligible to join if my wife gets a VA position that she's interested In Fairbanks. OMG...it's -40.
Wish I saw this thread when I lived in Anchorage from 2008-10... Did a lot of gigs at Sullivan's and the Taproot (old and new ones). Good times!
There's a couple of cool guys in the Fairbanks area with some sweet gear, don't lose hope!
and it's official. Me, my wife, and 4 cats
We'll be driving up around the 4th week of June to Fairbanks. I've lived in Central NY, Las Cruces, NM, Olympia, WA and the SF Bay area. This trip may be the most interesting but logistically, it's giving me a headache.
Here's to America.
And I now am eligible to join the Alaska Bassist Club. Now how do I sleep when still daylight out at 1am? This is killing me.
Also, feel free to pass my name to anyone needing a bass player/good cook.
