Ampeg B4R direct input question

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by mojo frankenstn, Jan 16, 2014.

  1. will i cause any damage to my b4r head if i run directly into recording console without using a speaker cab. listening thru headphones?
  2. researched it myself. no problem as long as its a solid state amp.

That amp has a lot of nice features.

Even though you aren't using the power amp section, it still needs enough air circulation around the vents to help keep it cool.

I have the same head (love it), and have done just what you're describing many times. No issues.
  7. It is my first high wattage head. I am using it with a SVT810E cab in the Bridged mono position and it sounds great. really heavy to move around but i can always hear myself no matter what is coming through the monitors. Thanks for the advice and information.

Can you run headphones directly out of the B4R and if so which jack? (Sorry for the dumb question)
