Has anyone tried this amp for DB? I am considering buying one for my BG, but am looking for a decent doubling amp.

    B1962,
There is a great review of the Ampeg Micro SVT in the current issue of Bass Gear magazine. http://www.bassgearmag.com/web/magazine_flip_pdf_1_n.php just click on the Digital Magazine button and read away. My guess is that it's really more of an electric bass amp, but anything is possible. The input impedance is set at 800 k ohms so you would need a buffer pre amp to use a piezo pickup.

Here's a video demo of the Micro VR that Dino from Ampeg put together. The tones he gets out of the amp are right in line with my experience trying the amp out at GC. Very nice little amp!
