    Hey fellas,

I've tried a few options and nothing is working as a gig bag for my PF800. The rubber feet make anything requiring a slide-in entry a pain in the butt.

So what are you PF800 owners using to tote this head around safely? There is an Ampeg PF gig bag, but it looks like a lot of money for an okay bag, plus they are special order and non-returnable.

    Thoughts?

    Slide it in upside down.

    I'm using a Gator mixer bag that's like 15" x 15".

That definitely seems like the best option so far. Thanks Jimmy.

I think that the bag that Jimmy has is this one: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GMixB1515

I have one of those as well. I use it as a gig bag. It has stood up well over the last couple of years. Made well, padded, has a good strap and handle. Well worth the price.

Not the 800, but I cart my PF500 around in a laptop bag.

That's it. It's not the best bag ever made in history or anything, but it does the job well enough and is pretty easy to get around with.

You can get laptop bags that large that zip open around the long edges too. My last PF bag was $20.

Laptop bag here too, that zips around each long edge. It's easy enough going in and you only slightly have to wiggle it out.

Laptop bags have become common in the thrift stores (in my area anyway).

    They are usually about $7.

This is a bump on an old thread, but I can chime in and recommend against the Ampeg PF bag. The padding is nothing great; the side cable pocket is on the small side; and most importantly, the foldover main flap does not provide 100% coverage for the amp, leaving exposed the plastic brackets that protect the control plate. (You can see this in the product photos if you look for it.) If all you want is a carry bag, this one is basically capable, but if you're looking for protection, you'll want to go with another option.
