Anyone own or try this cab yet? Could not find any personal reviews of this cab. Sorry, this is the 2nd time I have posted this. Could not locate my last thread even after a Talk Bass search. Still trying to figure out this forum.

This cab would match up nicely with my SVT ii (non pro) and the SVT 210 Pro cab I already have. Not a fan of the 15" cabs I have tried thus considering a 212 and it would match my existing cab.

Will save this thread immediately so I do not lose any responses.

    Thanks

I appreciate the link. Most of it not related to the cab. Is that it, just one person with a review? Guess I will wait it out.

I'm really interested in this cab also. I will soon be getting the new Ampeg V4B reissue and will need a new cab soon after. I'm looking at the SVT 212 AV or the SVT 410HE.

Ditto, I'd like something small and 4 ohm that could be a good SVT or V4 cab for smaller gigs as well as looking good/matching the tolex. They should start showing up eventually.

I guess they are still new to the market.

The one review stated the low end was not quite there compared to the 804. Kind of bummed to hear that. Thought the 212 would handle lows better then a 4X10. Granted, it is a smaller cab.

I have been considering a used Bergantino 212, Mesa 212, or GB 212 as alternatives but was hoping to match up with one of my existing cabs which is the SVT 210 Pro. Guess I could be the one to buy the SVT 212AV and write a review but that seems a little risky.

I'm waiting for them to show up at our local music stores, too. Takes a little while, I guess, but Sam Ash said they were getting them soon.

Looks like Guitar Center has two of these SVT212AV units for sale used at $499 each. They're in the Aurora, IL (Naperville) store along with a V4B which I can't tell for sure, but it looks like one of the new reissues. It's selling for $899.

    Hopefully this link works:

Maybe someone here who knows Ampeg stuff (JimmyM) can tell if these are the new 212 cabs and V4B head.

Ampeg ran a contest that announced the winner just about two weeks ago. The prize was a new V4B (signed by Lee Rocker) and 2x 212AV. Looks like the ***hat just turned around and sold the whole rig, brand new.

EDIT: They're definitely the new ones.

In that case it's a hell of a deal. $400 off the head and $200 off each cab. If I had the $$ I'd at least pick up one of the cabs. Too bad I don't live in IL. I'd love to be able to go down there and try out that rig!

Yea I could see selling one of the cabs maybe. But the whole rig???

Guess he needed the cash more than the rig.

Well it IS his stuff to do with what he wants. There are no conditions on keeping it for a length of time in Ampeg's contests.

We each get to do whatever we want with our stuff.

I'm glad the guy was able to turn it into some cash. Good for him!

There is no magic bullet to prevent folks from selling stuff they win in contests.
