I seached around, and didn't find any club already, which surprised me, because we need a thread dedicated to discussing these great amps. So here it is, the first official Ampeg V4 club. Included in this are the V-2, V-4, V-4B, VT-22, VT-40, and V4BH.

Here is mine. A 76-79 V4B I just got recently.

I have an early model (metal switches and no master volume) V4. Right now I'm using it for guitar through an Acoustic 4x12, but I want to try and get a bass cab for it soon!

It's no longer mine, but who would appreciate V4 pron if not the V4 club...

Ended up trading it for it's bigger brother, a 74 SVT. Can't say I've regretted it, but I sure do miss the V4 sometimes.

I've got an early 70's one. I'll post a pic when I get home.

Very nice! How does the 76' Thunderbird (I presume) sound through it? I have an epi bird, but its pickups are significantly different than the 76's. Also, I like the massive amount of tubage in that room. What is the amp that is poking out of the top left corner on top of the Hiwatt cab?

Love my V4, just wish it was a little mo lightah! Had to put in new caps and the output tranny fried--literally--just after I bought it (gee, I wonder if this is why the guy was selling it...or he is the luckiest dude around), but now that it is all sorted out it sounds great.

That's a 70s B410 - part of a SS rig that Ampeg made. I got it empty and beat to hell. It was originally covered in the black carpet, so that's what I re-did it with. The speakers are (for the time being) Peavey Scorpions that I had laying around. One of these days... Of course, the important thing is that the V4s don't hang over the edge of the cab:D

The V4B through the SVT bottom was "my" sound for many years. Big, growly - just downright nasty. Probably more "hair" than alot of bassists like in their sound, but for the heavier rock that I was playing it was, and is, the ticket. The pickups in the Bicentennial T-Birds are not like the 60s pickups - nor are they like the newer ones. They have relatively low output, so you have to run the amp a little louder. I have an Epi 'bird also - one of the white LEs with the chrome pickups and hardware. The bass that sees the most use currently is my Frankenstein P-Bass with an SX J-Bass neck. That one has a Gibson TB Plus pickup in the bridge position.

Everybody asks about that head. It's a Plush 4000G - currently in the shop for some tweaking. Four 6550s, and transformers almost as big as the ones in an SVT.

Count me in. Keep thinking I should sell it but I just can't make myself do it.
