    Maybe that is why I like it; the slapping is understated but makes the choruses seem uplifting. :D

    I had a teacher that sort of pointed this out as a kind of rosetta stone for slapping bass guitar. 25 years later I have to agree- he told me to learn the slap part and improvise upon it to build solo skills within the slap idiom.

    +1 to anything Primus with the bonus that the songs feature the baseline so you don't risk sounding odd if you are playing solo like I am imagining for a talent show. Plus you could even pick something where Les does slapping and tapping and learn/display that technique on top I the slapping.

    Its the same bassline, sugar hill lifted it free of charge
    Ive seen bernard edwards play pizz and slap interchangeably on this tune.
