That's what's written on the headstock.

In fairness to the seller, that is what it says on the headstock.

I stand corrected. Still, it's not what I believe most people think of when they think of a handmade custom bass.

The body has a nice grain to it. My fretless is an SX Vintage Series, and it's a surprisingly good bass. It's got a really warm sound to it. But yeah, "custom" and "handmade" are not the first things that come to mind, despite what the headstock says.

I sanded the logo off of mine Not that I care it's an SX, it's just super cheesy. That little one out at the end is so odd. I honestly prefer a clean head stock.

Yeah - misleading labeling on the part of SX. Custom handmade by our CNCs and volume production line. lol

Good price and good quality bass at that price, though. Wishing I was local also.

I already have two of the old headstock SX jazzes but like most have said, if I was local, I'd jump on it.

The control cavity on mine looks like it was gouged out by hand with a dull chisel. Still, they're great basses. This one would be a good deal.

Not totally. If One-of-a-kind is a synonym for "Custom", I can vouch that SX basses, I have quite a few, ARE Custom Handmade IF ONLY because the screws for the pups, neck and pickguard are obviously done by HAND and therefore you cannot simply swap out necks or pickguards. EACH bass is UNIQUE.

You can wordsmith all you want, but I doubt that 1 in 1,000 people think that screwing in a pickup makes an instrument hand made. I think SX makes good bases, but I don't know anyone that considers them handmade and custom.

I was kidding. Guess I should have put a winkie emoticon after it... I thought it was obvious.

He is simply quoting what it says on the headstock. Also it is the version where the headstock actually looks good.

Also the bass comes from China. The Chinese are not known for truth in advertising.

All in all that is nat a bad bass ... offer him $99

My apologies. It wasn't the first time I missed that, and unfortunately probably won't be the last.
