Arthur Barrow bass clips

    Arthur is my favorite of all Zappa bassists. He was a keyboardist who only took up the bass in his early twenties in order to play for Zappa. By the time of his audition (just a few years later, after thousands of hours of woodshedding), he was already a brilliant bass player.

    Thanks for the clip. Arthur and Patrick O'Hearn are probably my 2 favorite Zappa bassists.



    Had no idea he played with Joe Cocker on "Leave Your Hat On" tho!

    Let's not forget Tom Fowler, who played bass with Zappa from 73-75 He is a monster!

    It looks like Arthur's playing his Ripper there. O'Hearn is such a badass, too.

    I saw that band a few weeks later in NYC during the Halloween Run, and I distinctly remember Arthur playing a Ripper.
