Damn. I have to sell a bass to hold true to my rule of 4 basses only.
Needed a 5 string, found one I liked, got it, and now I must replentish my funds. (Damn bills)
So, somebody out there who needs, or just wants a really nice P bass for a good price, this may be for you.

OK. This bass started it's life as a Squier Vintage Modified Precision. I wanted to make it into a back up for the Stingray I was using at the time, so I modded it accordingly; Basslines 1/4 LBers, upgraded all the electronics, Babicz bridge, etc., then threw on a set of Rotos.....It did not sound good.
It was then I thought, "Hey, I could go completly in the other direction on this", which I did.
Currently, we've got Licensed by Schaller tuners, Alpha 250 pots, orange cap, cloth wiring, Tone Rider pickups ,(very cool), the Babicz, a reasonably "not terrible" attempt by me at a Fender headstock logo, "F" neck plate, white pickguard and pickup covers, and these really interesting flat wound strings that were on a fretless bass I once bought. I don't know what kind they are, they don't "coil up", but they "go with this bass".
This thing is now doing what it was "supposed to be doing", being a "Jamersonian Tone Emulator".
(I don't even know what that means exactly, I thought it sounded cool).
But fellow bassists, all kidding aside, it does sound really good.
By the way, it also plays fantastic. 1.65 nut width, fret ends have been professionally filed, not much wear on the frets, and, wait for it, 9 to 9.5 lbs on the bathroom scale!
If you want it just like it is.......(minus the strap and locks),
How about $250 shipped in a hard shell case. If you want the strap and locks, we can talk. If you want me to take the Babicz off and put on a standard bridge, we can talk as well.
You guys all know what it would cost to mod this bass to this point. If this is something you've been considering, this will save you a bit of time, effort and money.
I think my asking price is fair, but if you disagree and wish to make an offer, I will of course be open to discussing it-
I know it's none of my affair once the bass has been sold, but this guy wants to be played, it is truely one of those, "cool finds" that sounds and plays far past its price point. Please don't buy it just to part it out. I love this bass, and I wish I could keep it.
Yes, I did attempt to put an eye hook in the headstock to hold down the "A" string. Yes I tried 3 times before it didn't break off. The 4th one works quite well though. You'll see in the last pic. I don't want to talk about it. lol
Hmmm. You can't see the 3 broken off posts. I assure you, they are under the "A" string. If someone needs to see it, I'll get a better angle pic.
If there are any questions, please ask!

OK. What am I missing here?
    Am I asking too much?
    This thing is really cool.
How about if I throw in a hard shell case I just aquired, and don't need?

Is the modded Pbass still available? Is the neck a Squier product or was it made elsewhere?
