    Hey kids.
Like most of us, I'm on the hunt for new music to inspire me.
I wanna hear some cool alt/indie/post/whatever rock bands that have killer bassists that use cool effects. More than just a Big Muff. I wanna hear delays, modulation, and other fuzz/dirt tones!

    Whattaya got?!:bassist:

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep 'em coming! A little bit on why you like these bands, or an album to start with, would be helpful for me to sort through them too!

You want new bands? Or classic ones too?

In the latter category, I suggest the Police:

"Bring on the night" (nice slow phase 90 tone on his steinberger)

Very cool. Is that a Tycobrahe Parapedal (or a Chicago Iron Parachute I guess)?

Might be a little dark and heavy for your tastes, but Peter Steele of Type O Negative used a lot of interesting effects on bass and the result, along with guitars and keyboards, was an absolutely huge overall sound. I know for sure he used Distortion (lots of it at times), Chorus, and Delay.

  19. This band simulates a bucket of bolts thrown into a washing machine. The bass player contributes heavily to this sound:
