Bartolini Jazz pickups

    I have these from a 4 string '00 Modulus VJ (9J-L & 9J-S respectfully).

    They function perfectly - great sounding jazz pu's :)

    Bright sounding? Dark sounding? Scooped? Sgl coil? Split coil? Hidden polepieces or blade?

    Info on these pickups is hard to come by. All I could find mentioned 9J-S1 & 9J-L1 models.

    Sorry, I should have been clearer on that. They're darker sounding split coils with deep lows & low mids.

    These are in fact the 9J-S1 and 9J-L1 models. Modulus (to my knowledge anyway) used the 9J1 L/S Bartolini sets as the standard on all of the passive VJ basses they made (active models got EMG's usually).
