Dio - dont talk to strangers
Journey- don't stop believing
I believe the same applies to Slither, from Velvet Revolver. Another Duff moment.
Just Like Heaven by The Cure (well most stuff by the cure but that song in particular) and Panopticon or Hummer by The Smashing Pumpkins
The Fish. Christopher Russell Edward Squire
"Fascination Street" by The Cure
"Jimmy" by Tool
Anything by Peter Hook!
"Witch Hunt" by Rush (the short lead breaks)
Almost forgot: Jeff Caxide's chorus tones all over Isis "In the Absence of Truth" and "Wavering Radiant" albums!
Are You In? (live version w/Ben Kenney) by Incubus
The Original by Incubus
Doesn't YYZ by Rush have some subtle chorus on it?
Also, some of that "Valley Girl"/"Ship Arriving Too Late" era Frank Zappa had chorus on the bass played by Scott Thunes (although I don't think it was specifically on those two tracks). It was on some of the Broadway the Hardway album, too: (I love the "Mr. Sting" line), and I think it was on some other tracks from other albums. I can't really remember.
Fazer by Quicksand.
Most of Peter hooks stuff in new order is great also check out Steve severin from siouxsie & the banshees as well the chorus on Israel is cool!
Ditto on all Cure songs Simion's uses the chorus on. Tool as well.
Most of the chorus on cure songs are played on six string fender baritone/ basses
Oh also my absolute favorite! the smiths "meat is murder" the whole album has great bass playin by Andy rouke! check out " headmaster ritual"& "barbarism begins at home"
I believe Ross played his Steinberger on this one. Epic bassline, with a great sounding thick & syrupy chorused tone.
One of my favorites is Pino Palladino's bassline on Don Henley's "Sunset Grill". The combination of chorus + fretless bass = a beautiful & haunting tone.
Dream Theater - On the Backs of Angels (bass track)
Oh, there's plenty that Simon is nailing on bass!
rocket queen - G'n'R from appetite for destruction
Oh & "babushka" by kate bush nails that fretless/chorus basstone as well!
Separate names with a comma.
