So I was looking at resonator basses after listening to a lot more new Primus recently, and stumbled across this - http://www.goldtone.com/products/details/w/instrument/444/Paul-Beard-Bass-PBB the PBB (Paul Bead Bass). Looked like another nice sunburst resonator until I got to half way down the page and discovered the attached picture. I want one. I don't care in total it would be close to $1,500. That bass, is on a stick.

Yeah, obviously the whamola is awesome, but it doesn't beat the resonator on a stick

I was aware the PBB was a resonator bass but didn't realize it had an end piece.

Goldtone also has a bass banjo that intrigues me.
