Just saw on their Facebook feed that Bearfoot FX is bringing the Blueberry Bass OD into their lineup. I've always been a huge fan of Bjorn / BJFE / Bearfoot's ODs for guitar, but the Blueberry OD for bass is one that I've never had a chance to try and it's $$$. I wanted one years ago, but ended up buying a BJF Pink Purple Fuzz.Needless to say I'm excited that this is coming out at a reasonable price through Bearfoot.

So, anyone with the BJF version of this OD have any input / review / audio?

And just to be clear , I have no affiliation (I have my own little some-time pedal biz) and I'm just a BJF / Bearfoot fan.

I own an original BBBOD and love it. It would be fantastic to get a new one. This pedal is a must in everyone's board.

That thing has sounded wonderful every time I've heard it. It's just always sounded too dark for my uses?

The darkness is what makes people love it or hate it. For example, I play through a hi-fi rig with a tweeter, but I love dark fat tones, so an inherently dark OD is my thing. But then you have people who want a brighter, more cutting sound, or they play through rigs that are already not so bright or hi-fi, or tweeterless, and they need an OD that will cooperate to get them their sound. This is where people love the Dredgetone Angler, for example, while I hated it.

I haven't tried the Bearfoot yet, but I luvs me BJF BBB.

Wasn't a fan of the Mad Professor version. I was actually really disappointed because I heard a demo that made it sound like God on steroids. It just ended up sounding kind of generic. Good, but generic.

But I've heard it said that the MP version doesn't sound anything like the real deal, so maybe this will be better...

I've heard similar comments regarding the MP vs. BJF versions, and that's one of the reasons I'm looking for input. Since the Bearfoot boxes released to date have used BJF circuits, I'm pretty hopeful that the BBOD will, too.

I love my Blueberry and I'm always curious about pedals that can compare to it. Judging by sound clips the [SFX] Red Dragon and the Solid Gold FX Beta can sound similar.

And my day is officially made. I've freaking wanted a 3BOD forever.....LITERALLY FOREVER. I just simply can't afford to spend the money that the originals go for, and I can't even remember the last time one came up used. I've owned and gigged damn near every other OD pedal thats been popular on TB through the years.

Based on the prices of the other three-knobbers, I'm guessing this'll be $222?

If it's like the MP version is a CA3130 Rail-to-rail and LEDs and 4001's for clipping.

Yeah, this is important. I don't like dark tones, I think they sound like mud. I prefer punchy and relatively bright tones, so I really didn't gel with the BBBOD. The nice thing is that I was able to turn it around and sell it on to the next guy for the same price, so I basically just paid shipping to satisfy my curiosity.

Are the two red LED's just there to fool people then?

Nad's old clips are kinda cool, but I'm not sure if it really will offer something more than my Zeke in led mode. Hmm...

One stage/loop clips with 1n4001 and the other clips with red 3mm LEDs. I learned that from that old photos you posted a few years ago.

The Bearfoot pedals don't come with all the goop that the original BJF ones did as far as I know - so expect to see a fair few more clones being built once someone verifies the schematic!

Cool--and FWIW I didn't mean that post to sound as snarky as I realize it may have sounded. Bjorn supposedly did put in some "dummy" components to fool cloners.
