    nice tones guys thanks for chiming in.and those singlecuts look awesome! i,m having my preamp custom voiced and pickups rewound.i'm almost sold on the trb jp2 tone but now i'm having second thoughts especially hearing the fender mm sound...

    Definitely some nice tones posted, but to me this is still my absolute favorite. Roscoe FTW...

    nice tones.i favor clear transparent modern tones though.nice slap tone for the roscoe..i wonder how it sounds fingerstyle..

    You surprise me - although, I guess he did go through some very strange-looking basses in the '70s!

    I think Precisions were his go-to bass from about '67 to '71; i.e., Sell Out through Who's Next. In particular, there was "Frankenstein," assembled from the parts of various smashed Precisions, which was used on a lot of those recordings. (The bass on Live at Leeds was definitely a P, it may even have been Frankenstein.)
