Do any of the older big muffs have anything better about them then the deluxe? The deluxe has more features, but sometimes older is better like with analog vs. Digital flanger. So anything better about the old ones?

Skip them all and get a Tall Font Russian or MojoHand BMP-1. Or if you want a slightly more middy, grindy flavor get a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache or Earthquaker Hoof.

I prefer the Bass Muff to the Deluxe. The deluxe sounds stripped to me, that being said I had not had the chance to do a side by side.

The Tall Font is indeed a better option but it's more expenisve. The Fuzzrocious Grey Stache is good too. My favorites for Muff type circuits are:

Stomp Under Foot Green Muff and Dirty Rooster (version one). I also like the Swollen Pickle for the diversity of tones it's capable of yielding.
