    SOLD

Fantastic custom made Bluesman Vintage Deville PJ from luthier John Scott.

Alder Body, Lake Placid Blue Finish Aged White Pickguard (has a slighty minty color), Maple Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard, 1 5/8" nut width Reverse Tuners . Vintage-Style Bridge,Medium Relic

Dave Allen PJ Pickups with Vintage Jazz-Style Stacked Knobs

    This has Bluesman's Pre-Lawsuit Fender-Style Headstock

    Weight is 8.4 lbs

    Comes with Padded Gig Bag

Bluesman's have a great reputation as one of the best Vintage/Relic Fender copies. This one sounds great, the P and J pickups are well balanced, and it plays like a dream with a great broken-in feel. You'd pay a lot more and have a good wait to have one like this custom made for you!

$1450 obo shipped in the CONUS

    Paypal accepted, no trades please.

    1 5/8" nut width

Not sure how to describe the neck profile, it's relatively slim -- not a big chunky thing.

Not having much experience with Dave Allen pickups, how do they compare to the Fender 62 AVRI's?

I'm not sure I could give you a really informed comparison. The Dave Allen pickups sound very nice to me, clear and full, and the J is well balanced with the P. I've found that on a PJ, if the J is a lot lower in ohm-age, the pickups will not blend well, but with these you can favor the P or J pickup and blend the other in smoothly.

I have two Bluesman El Dorado's and they are smoking basses. The David Allen pickups are fantabulous! I also have a Deville P/J with the David Allen pickups and it is every bit as cool as the others. This bass would be nearly $2K if John built it today.

    Good luck with the sale-

Any Jason Isbell fans here? His bass player, Jimbo Hart, played a bass exactly like this on "Austin City Limits" recently.

Have been a fan since he was with Drive-by Truckers. That was a great ACL, Neko Case' set was awesome as well.

Nice pickup of that shot, Phil!... I saw Isbell just last weekend. Hart had a completely different arsenal (two Fender Ps and an Ampeg rig).

Amyway, this Bluesman for sale looks sweet. GLTWS!
