This bass is a brand new Darryl Jones finished in Lake Placid Blue. I bought it a couple of months ago and realized (after the return period) that I wanted a maple fingerboard…which I subsequently got. So, I’m selling this one. It plays great (PLEK setup) and sounds great (warm and classic 60s sounding), and very well balanced. It is tempting to keep it, but I’ve plenty of good basses. It is in dead mint condition, still has the hang tags and plastic tuner protectors. Comes with a Lakland Skyline gig bag. New from a store, the bass sells for $1350, and the gig bag goes for $120. My procrastination will save you almost $250!

    $1225 plus $40 for shipping.

That's a sweet looking bass..I used to have a black sparkle DJ5..it was one of the first 10 ever made! Never should've sold it! Good luck with your sale!

Hey, thank you both for your support! It is an excellent bass with a great B string; I just don't need two of 'em!

What's the weight on this beauty? Are these the American made Lakland pickups?

Weight is 9.6 lbs according to my digital scale, and they are indeed the American made Lakland pickups.

They're single coil pickups made by Hanson (Lakland's parent company). They're definitely US made, and they are bruisers! Probably my favorite jazz pickup I've heard to date!

Yes it is still available...I've been too covered up to spend any time pushing this. I have not had any problems yet with the single coils humming...the bass is very well shielded. I should point out that I use both pickups up full almost all the time, so it is really a humbucker in that scenario.
