Can someone please school me on Cataldo basses?

I saw one listed on eB**, and I am intrigued. Thinking of a purchase........

Who owns one? Likes and dislikes? Anyone using on on a regular basis? How is the quality?

    Thanks in advance!!!!

Imho Carlo builds great stuff. He has pretty much cornered the Fenderbird market, his JAEbirds are very accurate recreations of Entwistles famed Fenderbirds. His take on Gibsons Nonreverse Thunderbird is spot on (I own a number of 60's NRs and have played them almost exclusively since '77). I own JAEbird #16 and a Cataldo NR both basses powered by Thunderbuckers. I highly recommend Cataldo basses.

I concur with Scott on the Cataldo basses. Here's a pic of my almost-finished NR4 in Polaris white, set-neck, ebony fingerboard and Curtis Novak 'faux-bucker' pickup....Carlo is a GREAT guy to do business with, too...

Those NR basses on his page look awesome. Wouldn't mind finding one of those under the tree this season :)

Here is my signature bass also featured on the Cataldo website. I can't say enough good things about this bass. I used over my tried and true '67 at the last recording session with my band. Sounded great and I felt right at home. [IMG][IMG]

    GET ONE!

I strongly suggest getting one with the Thunderbucker pickups. His older ones have Seymour Duncans, and while not bad, they lack the explosiveness Thunderbucker pickups
