It's a long time I got an Ibby SR5005 MM Japan Prestige 95'.

I'm pretty happy with its wood construction/feeling. I love palying on it. However I'm not that much happy with its sound.

It's Ibanez ADX5 as active pickups and Ibanez preamp within. Someone experimented told me theses pickups are pretty good and kind of rare (only used in sr5005 and an other sr model).
I read on this forum someone who were unhappy with that preamp.

Has someone ever think about remove and replace pickups or preamp to put something better? Only changing preamp coulb be good enought? If yes so wich one?

Thanks and excuse my poor english :meh:

Man put some Bartolini Quad coils and at least a Bart NTMB preamp and a coil splitter and that will become an awesome bass.

I would go with SGD Lutherie pickups and an Audere Classic 4-band preamp.
