Comfortable, good sounding 5/6 string?

Hey, I'm looking for an extended range bass and I can't find one with a comfy neck that doesn't weigh a ton. I have small hands so I prefer thin necks with small string spacing. This brings Ibanez into the picture. Any other brands with slender necked 5ers/6ers?

I used to own a Carvin 6 that had an amazing neck. Not heavy at all.

Forgot to say they have to be affordable, I'm decently broke.

Squier vm p5. Weighs about 9 pounds and feels great. Not what I'd call a small neck, but very comfortable.

Define "affordable" more exactly. Give us an actual Max dollar amount and we can help. Also what kind of music do your like to play?

I play metal and progressive rock. I'm actually ditching my Squier VM Jazz bass because of the chunky neck and how heavy jazzes are. I'd love if someone threw Jazz pickups on a Precision body. My max price is $700. I love jazz tone, but the necks are just too much for me and the bodies are real heavy. I've tried to get over it, but I can't really efficiently get around a 5 string Jazz fretboard.

I played an Ibanez BTB 5 for years and it was comfortable but I recently got a Carvin LB75 with a smaller nut and slightly tighter string spacing and I have to say I really like it. I picked
Mine up for 700 used at a local guitar shop.

Yep. I highly recommend a used Carvin. They can be had for $700 every day.
