I have an old studio compressor that I'm looking to play around with on my rig. I'm not sure what is the correct way to hook it up. Should it go between my Bass and my pre amp? Should I use the effects loop? Or after the pre before the power amp? Any advice would be welcome. I play fingerstyle.

Rig: G&L L2000 Bass - Korg rack tuner - Tech 21 Sansamp RBI - QSC PLX power amp - Ampeg 410hlf.

If the compressor's ka-nobs are on the front, you have two choices:

*Effects loop (best option w/ RBI).

*Between the pre and power amp.

When you say studio compressor, I immediately think of something requiring a line level signal. Both configurations will give you that. Enjoy!
