I purchased a 1988 Rudy Sarzo Bass that was stored, unplayed for 24 years in what must have been a very moist environment (South Texas). As soon as I received the bass I brought to my luthier for a set up and we discovered that the Dynabass preamp was corroded and unfunctional, as was everthing electrical (cord plug too). I ordered a Millennium AC preamp replacement from Peavey and now need to covert the power wiring from two (18 volt) to one (9 volt) battery pickups since there is no room in the guitar for a two battery,18 volt setup.

Does anyone have experience with this conversion (Dynabass 9 Volt to converted Millennium AC 9 Volt)?
What can a player expect for tone performance and battery life from this 9 volt conversion?

Don't want to spend time/money on this conversion if the result is a wonderful bass with reduced tone and play life.
