    Hi to you all !
It's my first post here. I've been playing bass for the last couple of months. I play on a Cort Freedom bass. Basically, it's a Jazz with a P pickup in the neck position. It sports a 24 frets neck.
I bought it used, so I had my luthier to do a pro set-up in order to start playing bass on a properly set instrument. My luthier said that the instrument is in good shape, no real problem. He added that 24 frets necks can "curl" over the time. I was not aware of this kind of vulnerability on such an instrument.
I'm considering changing the strings to flats, maybe La Bella 0760M as I'm really fond of James Jamerson and Donald "Duck" Dunn sound. Is it a risky choice ? I wouldn't want hurt my bass with an inapriopriate choice of strings.
Any advice or experience to share ?

You should be fine. But you'll very likely have to adjust your truss rod in the clockwise direction due the 0760Ms' high tension.
