So I just mistakenly won a Gibson Victory Bass body on eBay. I thought I was gonna get the neck as well but, I lost that auction.
Now what do I do (look for some interesting ideas)?

A Bolt on epiphone T bird neck may look the part decent enough.

Dooooh,You could open the pocket up like fenderbird and use a fender neck. The victory if it's like the tbird neck is 2-1/4" wide and the fender 2-1/2" I loved the victory I had!

Wow, I have never seen one with the neck off. I knew the fretboard came down like that but I thought it was a overhang and not the whole neck being shaped like that. I know some Ibanez basses and other basses have that shape but I doubt it would be a direct fit. Maybe making a little spacer would work with some ore standard type of neck.

Ugh...I think I'm kinda screwed. I definitely wasn't looking to get into a hack project.

I would wait. Put the body aside and keep an eye out for a neck. Scour the internet put out feelers. You might get lucky. It might take a while but that's what I would do.

looks like you either have some grafting and refinishing to do, or you better keep a sharp eye on ebay. that really sucks, though, im very sorry

You didn't "mistakenly" win this auction. You had a plan, and it didn't work.

There were 7 other bidders on that auction. Put the thing back up for auction and don't do something like this again.

He bid on and won this auction. It's too late to retract his bid.

Can you contact the guy who won the neck auction? He may be in the same position, and amenable to either buying the body from you or selling you the neck!

Put an undrilled Mighty Mite fretless on it and cover the gap at the neck joint with a custom pickguard.
Then rock the crap out of it.

BTW, 5lbs? My VA weighs about 12!

I was being cute with my wording. I mistakenly assumed the same person was buying the neck and body. This is a weird bass to want one and not the other. Should have thought about the fact that necks have problems more often than bodies.
Yeah, I'll probably just put it back up. I only won it by a few dollars.

Not looking for sympathy from anyone or anything. Just ideas like, "I have a Victory neck and no body!"

Maybe the other guy has a busted headstock.
He wouldn't be the first Gibson owner to stalk fleaBay for a replacement neck

Interesting...I thought that 5 seemed light but figured it is only the body.
I had one of these back a couple years ago. I remember it being about 12 lbs or so with a neck and everything else.
    That neck is pretty substantial.

I'd do something freaky with it. Like contact Moses Graphite and see if he can make you a neck for it. I like that body-style.

The seller offers a 14 day return policy. Returning it before you pay is essentially cancelling your order.
