Hey! Move this if in wrong place.....but....

I see a dent and scratch item at Guitar Center.

It was lowered once.....how long do they wait before it is lowered again?

And....I heard they sell things at a loss at times....tru?

Its a bass ...new, but scratched up. Approx 1200 bucks.....think it will go lower?

I am willing to keep an eye on it...and wait for it to drop again. Maybe I gotta get inside info from some friendly GC dude at the store!

    Thanks!

Why don't you just ask them? Say you can't spend a dime over x amount. Maybe they will help you out.

Just go and ask for an assistant manager, then ask for the lowest they can go, they usually won't drop below cost, but they definitely want a scratched piece out of inventory. If you have 1k say so, they will get it out of there if it's anything above cost.

They have no internal rhyme or reason, so I *emphatically* second the "talk to the AM" idea. That's how I sold my cab to them, yesterday. I'd been dealing with the Assistant Manager for ages, and didn't know it, but when it really counted (I was selling a Madison), he made the call.

    ok...thanks!

is the Assistant Manager the highest ranking guy in the store?

why not ask for the Manager?

or does the AM have more flexiblity to make the deal than the Manager.

I do have a business relationship with a Pro Audio Manager, but I dont know if he can cut a deal in bass guitars....

probably tomorrow I am gonna go to the store and see what they can do.

    thanks for all the help!

    This is the rundown:
    AM's: Idiots
SALES Managers: 1-3 per store depending on size, they can knock an item down to cost
STORE Manager: 1 per, they can knock it down to anything or even give you the item for free if it's totally f'd up (happened a few times for me)
