Because a high quality instrument begins with high quality woods...
Super nice new QUARTERSAWN Wenge neck with Wenge fingerboard. Neck is spec'd to an Ibanez SR886 (SR1306) dimensionally. SUPER well made. 14mm (9/16") tuner holes (standard Gotoh). Single truss rod but, unlikely to ever need adjusting after setup- Super Stable Neck!! In addition, a new in packaging Hipshot Style A bridge (16.25mm spacing, perfect!) to use with this project. I will include the "shabby chic" drawing taken from an SR886... Cool project if you have the tools, wherewithal and time...

    About the bridge:
Black baked on powder-coated brass body with brass saddles plated in black. Adjustable string width, string height & intonation, with .640" spacing between strings. Individual steel string saddles can be moved either direction enabling you to custom tailor your string width spacing slightly. For 6-string basses. $151.00 retail (Brass, Black...) $131.00 from Best Bass Gear... Bridge SOLD!!

    Specifications:
    - Black powder-coated brass body
    - Black plated brass saddles
    - Dimensions: 4.39" long X 2.0" wide X .50" high
    - .640" string spread (16.25mm)
    - Strings can be top-loaded or fed through body
    - Includes mounting screws and adjustment wrench

Note: The picture with the outline drawing (the neck covers the pocket tracing)- taken from an SR886, shows a Lado 6-string bridge. That is NOT included... A Hipshot "A" style is... Even Better!!

    $225.00 shipped in the CONUS...

More temptation for me, eh, Satan?
I know of a red 886 that was “re-finished” in black paint with gold flecks that would look so sweet with this neck...

It is now time for the "Presto-Chango" segment of this thread!
This neck spawned the whole intent although I opted to not pursue (finishing...) The neck would look fab on your 886!! I'd wager better in tone too!

I purchased this neck from a fellow who had it like me- with plans to build a body around. It was obviously made by someone with a high level of skill but when I asked as to origin after my purchase, the seller didn't know either!!
An underestimation is it is super well made!!

Would consider selling neck and bridge separately... I am awaiting reply from a TB'er with "dibs" on the bridge in the event of a sale there...
