Has anyone installed a Daryll Jones J Retro preamp on their 2013 Lakland Daryll Jones Skyline 5string bass ?

Yep, it takes less than 30 minutes just remember when wiring Lakland does a reverse polarity on their neck pickup. Just pay close attention how it is wired before desoldering or clipping the wires from the original control cavity. IMO these basses should come with the J-Retro from factory as it is an amazing preamp.

I have and like it. One thing to note, which isn't totally obvious is that the bass is boost only. In the center detent, it's boosted 50%. The treble and midrange are boost/cut.
