What's your favorite David Bowie song....if you like David Bowie?.......which I do.......

I like "The Man Who Sold The World" a lot.....

He made an album once called "Lodger".........there's a couple of cuts on that one I really like too....although "Lodger" isn't as well known as some of his others....

Everything on the "Reality Tour" concert DVD.

    Some highlights for me are;
    Sister Midnight
    The Loneliest Guy
Under Pressure (Gale Ann Dorsey nails the vocals!)
    The Motel
Loving The Alien (I like this rendition better than the original recording)
    Bring Me The Disco King

If you are a fan of Bowie, I highly recommend this DVD.

Of course his Ziggy Stardust era was great. I am also a big fan of Bowie's "Let's Dance" album, his take on the popular music of the time was first rate. There are great songs on that album and as usual, the musicianship was fantastic.

    Belongs in Misc.

But anyway, Space Oddity, Ashes To Ashes, Boys Keep Swingin', Golden Years, Pretty Things Are Going To Hell...loads, really.

Also love his Xmas duet with Bing.

The entire Ziggy Stardust album is a masterpiece.

But really, I like everything this guy ever did, even his covers album "Pinups."

    Dave is just plain cool.

I pretty much love all of Bowie's catalog but the standouts for me are:

    - Space Oddity

    - Ashes to Ashes

    - My Death

    - Cygnet Committe

Big Brother and Cracked Actor from the David Live album. Sounds like a bootleg, and Bowie is busy killing himself on a diet of milk, peppers and cocaine. The florid 'Philly Dogs' arrangements are obtuse and turgid, his band hate him for stiffing them on a recording contract... Alan Yentob's film ' Cracked Actor' captures Bowie during this period and it is scary stuff. Makes for good music...

Diamond dogs. The natural delay effect they used intrigues me every time I hear it.

I'm afraid i only really care for his early 80's stuff. :-x

I tried but i can't get into the 70's stuff much. I mean yeah Space oddity is a good song and all (which i actually bothered to learn on piano) but overall i just can't get into his 70's records.

So...my favorite song of him is Modern Love...(sorry)

Wait wait, edit, Heroes. Heroes is pretty good too.

Side A of Scary Monsters KILLS.

Always loved "Cracked Actor" and his slanky take on The Who's "Can't Explain".

Killer blown out horns on this early track here:

Hey that's OK, man. Modern Love might secretly be the greatest pop song ever.

I find all of Bowie's stuff very interesting. Oddly enough I find that's why I like the killers so much. I catch "whiffs" of him and Mott in there stuff a whole lot.
