I've been playing EB for a couple years now, and have always been interested in eventually learning the DB. I'm now at a point where I'm interested in picking it up, but don't know any teachers in the area. Anyone have any recommendations for DB teachers in the Charlotte, NC area? I'm primarily interested in orchestral technique, but I wouldn't mind learning some jazz as well.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if he teaches these days, but look up Ron Brendle. One of my favorite bassists in the Charlotte area, and a super nice guy. Big tone - studied some with Charlie Haden many years ago if memory serves. Even if he is not teaching, he could certainly make recommendations.

I studied with Jeff Ferdon for about 4 years in High School and can't recommend him highly enough. Jeff is a really sensitive musician as well as being one of the best players you will likely come across.
