This is the first time I ever heard his name. Had to google. Hmmm...

    Well, wasn't me, for sure.

Wasn't me. Probable question "...does David Gilmour cover all your parts as he did with Roger Waters?".

Oh yeah, I follow all my favourite bassists (that have twitter, damn you JPJ & Pino!): Guy Pratt, Tony Levin, JMJ, Mark Hoppus, John Taylor and of course McCartney. I also have Tony Franklin following me!

I asked him about two years ago how many fretless basses he has. He was slightly rude, but I did get an answer.

If it wasn't for David Gilmour, only his mother would follow him on twitter.

yeah, it's not like he's a fairly busy session guy with an impressive resume of big name artists spanning 20 years... oh wait, he is :p

his stand-up show is pretty good TBF.

EDIT although he does seem to make fun of all the people who've ever given him a career break. except Pink Floyd.

Maybe he was joking, he IS a comedian too.

Love Guy Pratt. I think he has a point tho, it's like the inane questions asked of Janek in his forum.

All true but my point is still valid. If not for PF, no one would know who he is. There really aren't a lot of famous session players. Ask someone on the street who Pino is.

I'm pretty surprised to read that Guy Pratt seems to be unknown to some TBers.

Ever wondered about those fat bass licks at the end of Madonna's "Like a prayer"?
    Dat's him.
And, unless I miss my guess, Jacko's "Earth Song" as well.

    Ups...Rano Bass was a bit quicker....nevermind.

Dumb questions to ask Guy Pratt on Twitter:
What are the best pickups for 80's crap, post-Waters Pink Floyd, 90's alt college rock whatever it's called now, post-punk, & obscure bands I've heard of like Debbie Harry but don't truly like? Did you use the same pickups for all of those?

Don't want people to ask you about Pink Floyd? Try not playing with Pink Floyd.

    That tweet seems awfully whiny.

Yeah, he might be an experienced session player, but he is also a public figure. If he doesn't want to take on all the things that come with that (no matter how tedious), he probably shouldn't have a Twitter account in his name.

But, maybe it was just an off-the-cuff remark and usually he doesn't care, I don't know.
