Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me personal experiences playing the 64 and 74 AVRI Jazz Bass'. How do the tones compare? I heard in a demo that the 64 was smoother, but does it have a more low end focus growl versus that punchy sharp 74 sound?

    -Thanks guys and gals

Bump. I ask because the demos I've seen are either funk or very nowhere in the ballpark of rock music and that's what I'd be using it for.

Either will be fine - the difference would be small. For rock the 60's bass will look the part better and is a classic rock bass for sure. But they both work!

If they're true to the original years the bridge pickup on the 74 will be a half inch or so farther back than on the 64. That makes for more upper mids when the bridge pickup is on.
