    Guys-

I just wired in a set of Ultra Jazz pickups in my American Jazz Deluxe with the Sadowsky S1 switch. I followed the instructions (I have changed pickups before). It seems that the neck pickup ground comes back off the switch for the series/ parallel switch to a screw and tab in the pickup cavity.

The bridge connects first to the screw and tab, then on to the volume lug.

When playing the neck pickup only, it sounds squankie and if I touch the magnets and the string I get hum.

What have I done wrong? I think it is the ground but i am a novice repair man. Go easy on me...I am not a pro. I do my home work, but this wiring is just different and I am missing something.

    Thanks guys and gals!!

Check the resistance of all ground points with an Ohm meter.
