1. Welcome to TalkBass 2014! If you're new here, we just went through a major site upgrade. Please post all concerns and bugs to the Forum Usage Issues forum. We will be monitoring that forum. Thank you for all of your feedback.

The TalkBass iphone/android app is NOT WORKING currently. We're working on it. Tapatalk IS working, so if you need to use an app, use Tapatalk. Try using your browser though - TalkBass is now 100% responsive to your phone/tablet screen size ;)

Please read the TalkBass 2014 FAQ for lots of great info on the new software.

Do I have to put NBD here?

Sorry, still new to the forum, and still trying to learn the language of!

Finally after nine months of hunting, and playing a borrowed bass for that time, I landed on this 2005 MIM Jazz V at the beginning of the month for the same price as a Squier Affinity Jazz V in the shop; and it just felt "right" even though I was primarily hunting down a four string.

There's a couple of chunks out of the paintwork, though that's not an issue for me, and I'm thinking of changing the tuners as the G seems to be a bit loose for my liking.

Now the hunt is on for something P-loaded to go with it, as whilst I prefer the Jazz basses in terms of overall feel, sometimes the simplicity of the P-type cannot be beaten (for me anyway).

Sorry about the watermark on the photo, that's a habit from the day job (photographer), as if I'm putting anything online, then unless people are paying for it, I'm not giving it away!

I once owned a Mexican J5, same color p.o.s. just like the one in the photo. The neck used to warp daily!

It probably did that because it didn't like your attitude. :scowl:

Thanks all. I keep thinking of throwing it at my tame tech with a bottle of bourbon, a pile of cash, and seeing what interesting he could do to it, but at the same time, I kinda like it the way it is (bar the tuner being a bit sloppy). Though at the moment, it's just something until I can find (or fund) the bass I really want to put together.

Just call me Sean, it's a bit less to type :)

    Good to know.:eyebrow:

Was yours a 2005... Just like the one in the photo?????

I once owned a Mexican J4, same colour not-p.o.s. just like the one in the photo with one less string. The neck never warped and it was a great bass for the $$$.:spit:
