I must have missed it. His fingering looked correct and sync'd to the audio to me.

McCartney has always been one of the best at singing and playing bass at the same time.

Yeah, I would have been shocked to find he wasn't playing his own bass lines.

Yes, he's a master at making it look simple. Go back to some of the Ed Sullivan footage and he was making it look easy even back then.

I don't get what you are seeing, It looks right to me? Are you talking about when he takes his fretting hand off the neck?

When he takes his hand off the neck, it's an open string is all. His right hand is still going. It's just not in the frame.

    Indeed.

Who says playing in a cover band doesn't make you a good musician? By the time they got to the Sullivan show, they could do this in their sleep.

Yeah... Paul will point a lot at the audience or up in the air with his fretting hand. He's still playing the open string.
After 50+ years of bass playing, he's got it down better than most...

Look, I didn't watch the video, but I guarantee you this:

If Paul McCartney takes his hand off the neck, and you still hear the note, THAT'S JUST HOW GOOD HE IS.

    LOL. This made me laugh.

McCartney may have to start faking it a few years down the road from now and it will be forgivable because he's earned the right to fake it, but no way he's faking it now or in that video.

Personally I doubt he would ever fake it. He might simplify, but fake it? Not gonna happen. In fact I'm not listening to this suggestion at all BLAH BLAH BLAH hands over my ears I can't hear you
