Yes, guitars, not basses. GAS is afflicting me again, but I'm pretty set in the bass department, so I've been wandering over to the skinny-stringer side.

I play a little guitar and have a Godin electric with single-coils. Lately I've been thinking about trying for something with a warmer and smoother sound, so I'm thinking humbuckers. I'm not mainly a guitarist and don't have a lot of coin to spare anyway, so I'm trying to spend a little as possible to get that rounder humbucker tone.

I've tried out some Blacktop Fender and VM Squier teles in the $299-499 range, and really like the combination of telecaster body and neck with humbucker tone, but the Squiers are at the limit of what I could buy right now and the Fenders I'd need to save for a while. But I see Rondo has these Douglas "Gravity" teles and some of them sport humbuckers, for half the price. I've used SX basses before and liked them, so I'm wondering how people have fared with Douglas guitars - good idea? Significant problems? Thanks!
