    OK,
    This may sound strange.
I just bought my first set of DR Jonas Hellborg strings.
    Did I get a bad set ?
These strings have no outer winding on about 1/3 of the string.
I first put the E-string ( 100 ) on. The outer wrap went from the ball end to the part of the string that went about 1" over the nut.
But to put string into tuner I could only use the inner wrap.
    Thin nickel center.
None of the four strings had outer wrap that would reach any of the tuners. On the G-string ( 40 ) there was a good 10" of inner wrap after the nut.
I could only wind strings with inner wrap on tuners. No outer wrap was there for tuners.
    Is this normal ?

Yes, normal for these strings. They are single wrap strings.

Yes! They're normal and wonderful. My favorite strings.

    How do you like them?

Does the string tension feel fairly even on each individual string, or is the E-string looser relative to the others?

I'm digging the sound of these.
They are somewhat rough on the fingers.
Not sold on the feel of these yet. ( But I love Sunbeams )
    But the sound nice.
