DR Support: Broken string?

    Just a quick question. I bought some Hi-beams through BassStringsOnline, and but them on a week or so ago, and the string broke at the bridge not two minutes hence. Would I be able to contact DR for a free replacement? I've heard wonderful things about their customer service.
  2. You can contact them and state your case. Only DR can answer that question.

    Then you shouldn't be hesitant to call or email them. Its a company you've heard good things about not kids on your lawn

    This happened to me years ago. The G string broke within minutes of putting it on. I wrote a letter to DR (this was in the pre internet and email days)
    In the letter, I mentioned what gauge set and type of DR strings they were. A week later, I received a replacement G string AND a new set completely free of charge along with a letter of apology. I guess that's one reason why they have been my go-to string for 20 years.
