Duncan Single Coil P Bass Pickup Pole Question...

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by BassHappy, Jan 19, 2014.

  1. The pole on my A string of a brand new Seymour Duncan "Stack" single coil P Bass pickup sticks up a good 1/8" taller than the others - which makes the A string way loud. Is there a way to adjust the pole downwards?

    Any help is way appreciated.

you could tap the magnet down with a small hammer, but you risk breaking a coil wire and killing the pickup.

best bet is just to lower the whole thing, which reduces the output differences between one polepiece and the next.

Both my SD custom stack single coil PUs have all flat pole pieces, flush w/ the top.

I'm highly opinionated and extremely self-assured
If it's brand new, then just exchange it.
