What stands out about this model is how FEW builders do blackburst - or do it well. This was a great job on the finish and one part of its allure

Now, imagine it with BLACK hardware!

I can believe you 100% that this one kicks ass. Spec's are pretty close to mine, minus the top and a bit of wenge..........And I know mine is a monster!

I did sit a black bridge on it...trust me, the satin chrome is the stuff for THIS finish.

I agree with this. Certain finishes work really well with the chrome and this is one of them. My preference is generally for black hardware but on this one, and also my tobacco burst fretless the satin chrome looks great.

I have asking about doing the finish for some time, Sheldon does a similar finish on his Dingwall ABZ basses and I love it. I think Keith has gone one better on the burst and I could not be happier with the look. With regards to the sound - wow, this is a new departure for Roscoe this bass works for any style of music where attitude is required from Punk to Funk and everything in between - it snarls at you if you let it :)

I am leaning towards this color for the six I'm thinking about. But, I would like to see it in gloss.

Gard, does this bass do the Marcus Miller tone pretty well or do the pickups and placement create something else?

I wonder what a gloss version would look like with some flame maple underneath.
