I've got an Epi Elitest EB3 and I just got a Gibson bridge pickup to install in it.... I want to disconnect the varitone and just be able to blend the pickups like on my Gibson SG bass..

Do I need to be concerned with the pickups being out of phase or any kind of ohms issues if the mudbucker is way louder than the bridge PU?

I'm planning to have someone else do the mod, he has told me trying to rewire the varitone to have a true blending option was too involved and it would be better to keep it like it is or yank it. I'm leaning towards yank it, since I like the SG pickup blending option a lot better. I'm not sure he is a wiring whiz (neither am I) but if anyone knows whether or not this would work out for me I'd appreciate your thoughts.....
