EMG P6 + DC45-X Help!

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by ecj_bass, Jan 2, 2013.

  1. Hey guys, I need some help here.

I have bought a P6 and a 45DC-X for my custom bass my father and I are building, but they seem to not work together? I wire each one through separate volume and tone knobs (which work fine), but as soon as I plug both into the buss provided, the output does not work. When I route just one pickup to the output (basically volume > tone > jack), they both work.

Yes, every black and white cable is where it should be, there is no hum. Yes, everything is powered because the pickups work independently just fine.

Please help guys, this is torturous.

Your issue is the pickup bus - unless you wire in a switch, you HAVE to jumper the bus, or else no output. It should be somewhere in the instructions, but isn't the most obvious thing to see. Drove me crazy when I had your issue.

Once you get the buss jumpered appropriately, then be prepared for the large output difference between the P6 and the DC - the DC will be much louder.

  4. Thank you very much for your response. Works like a charm! Thanks again!

And I was aware of the volume difference, but I use the bridge as almost a solo boost.
