Found a frankenbass cheap on craigslist that says it has these.

Any comments, or things I should look for or avoid?

For what it's worth, that's what Victor Wooten uses.

I bought a Carvin neck thru body on craigslist for cheap cheap that had space for a PJ. The EMG Actives were my choice. Don't regret it one bit. It's currently my go to bass.

Best actives on the market IMHO, the only ones I like.

Lots of sound clips on YouTube that will give you a sense of the sound. I think they sound great. The bridge pickup is pretty thin by itself (that's where an onboard eq comes in handy) but it does a great job of balancing out the P-pickup when they're both on full.
