I've read some people have it working, even though on the Toontrack site it says it's not supported in Studio One Artist. The upgrade for $199 allows for VST plugins, could this be why EZdrummer is not working for me?

I'd ask on the Toontrack EZ Drummer forum. Sorry, best I've got, but should get the info you need.

Artist doesn't support plugins, but it comes with many good basic drum loops.

The Studio One 2 Pro upgrade is on sale now. It supports all plugins and includes a entry level Melodyne

Studio One 2 is actually a very cool DAW
But so is Reaper, and it supports plugins just fine.
